Shawn Morse (DBA Pacific Translations) is an experienced, professional Japanese-to-English technical translator specializing in the fields of IT, automotive, electronics, business, medical equipment, and certified translations.
Shawn has a double B.A. in Japanese and Japan Studies from the University of Washington (Seattle), lived and worked in Japan for ten years, and professionally translated for over 20 years. He is an Active Member of the American Translators Association and the Northwest Translators and Interpreters Society and is a ProZ.com Certified PRO Translator.

- Native English speaker, native-level fluency in Japanese
- Professionally translating for 20 years, and lived 10 years in Japan.
- Translated and edited over 100,000 pages of documentation, user guides, technical specifications, and business documents in IT, automotive, electrical, mechanical, and medical device fields.
- Expert user of Office, Trados, Memsource, and memoQ.
- Certified translator. Provides certified and notarized translations of family registries (戸籍謄本) and automotive export certificates (輸出予定届出証明書).
- Strong technical editing, writing, MTPE, and information research skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work quickly under pressure and schedule work efficiently.
- Committed to highest quality work, constant eye for detail, and careful review of all translations.
